Bhanuka Rajapaksa retires from Cricket

COLOMBO (News 1st); Sri Lanka Cricket says that Cricketer Bhanuka Rajapaksa has informed his resignation from Sri Lanka Cricket with immediate effect.

Rajapaksa, in his letter of resignation handed over to Sri Lanka Cricket, said the decision to resign was taken after considering his family obligations.

Rajapaksa represented Sri Lanka, both in ODIs and T20Is.

Meanwhile, Cricketer Lasith Malinga, one of the greatest limited-overs bowlers of Sri Lanka, urged Rajapaksa to not to resign, and stated that he believes that Rajapaksa has a lot more to give to Sri Lankan Cricket and requested him to reconsider his decision.
