COLOMBO (News 1st): Former State Minister Sunil Premajayantha who was stripped of his portfolio by the President says he will be returning to his legal profession.

He said it is via the media that he was made aware that he was sacked by the President, adding that no prior notification was given,

"Recently when I was at the market, a media person asked me about the price of goods. So, I responded that agriculture has failed and the policy decisions failed," he said, adding that he was speaking on behalf of the people.

He said certain matters may have been discussed at Monday's Cabinet meeting and noted that those who make decisions do not value education.

Susil Premajayantha said he was not surprised of being stripped of his positions, given how the country is moving.
