NO discussion on Provincial Council Elections - Gammanpila

COLOMBO (News 1st); The government has not engaged in any discussion with regard to the Provincial Council elections, said Minister Udaya Gammanpila on Tuesday (4).

Speaking during the weekly Cabinet Media Briefing, the Minister said that the government of Sri Lanka is not being influenced by any country, to call for elections for the Provincial Councils.

"We will not be subject to any such influence," he said adding that the government introduced a series of concessions to bring some form of relief to the people.
