'Will continue to work to secure Ranjan's freedom' - Opposition Leader

COLOMBO (News 1st); Opposition Leader Sajith Premadasa said that the struggle for freedom with all democratic rights will resume this year on behalf of Ranjan Ramanayake, who has always fought against corruption, suppression, and injustice.

The Leader of the Opposition said that Samagi Jana Balawegaya will be fully committed to this cause and that the struggle would begin with the participation of the young members of his party.

The Leader of the Opposition said that he has repeatedly requested the President for Ranjan Ramanayake's release and has received positive responses orally on many occasions and, still, it is unfortunate that it has not been implemented in practice to date.

The Leader of the Opposition Sajith Premadasa visited the Welikada Prison on Monday (3) to visit Ranjan Ramanayake and inquire into his well-being.
