COLOMBO (News 1st); Sri Lanka Police arrested a man on the charges of Child Cruelty, for tying his two children to a tree, applying chili on them, and then beating them in an inhumane manner.

Police Spokesperson Attorney-at-Law SSP Nihal Thalduwa told News 1st that the man had assaulted his 6-year-old son and 7-year-old daughter.

The two children were admitted to the Dikoya Base Hospital for treatment and the investigations revealed that the suspect was a heavy drinker.

The Police Spokesperson said the suspect had sent his two children to a shop nearby and had lost his temper when the children returned with firewood in addition to what he had wanted.
