COLOMBO (News 1st): The implementation of the mandatory possession of the COVID-19 vaccine card to enter public places will be delayed, the Health Ministry said. The possession of the COVID-19 vaccine card to enter public places was made mandatory at the beginning of the New Year. However, the implementation of this requirement will be delayed due to technical difficulties, Minister of Health Keheliya Rambukwella said on Monday (Jan. 3). Whilst pointing out that carrying the vaccine card is inconvenient, Minister Rambukwella noted that the health authorities have assessed all possible alternatives and in another week or two the mandatroy requirement will be implemented. Health Minister Keheliya Rambukwella emphasized that the possession of the COVID-19 vaccine card to enter public places MUST be made mandatory.
