COLOMBO (News 1st); The University Grants Commission (UGC) says that permission has been granted to accommodate 50% of student capacity for lectures with effect from Wednesday (29).
Chairman of the UGC, Prof. Sampath Amaratunga said permission to commence university lectures with 50% capacity was granted in line with the COVID-19 health guidelines issued by the Director-General of Health Services.
He said the University Chancellors have been instructed to take the necessary measures in this regard.
According to Prof. Amaratunga, the decision to allow 50% student capacity for lectures was reached during a meeting held at the University Grants Commission, last night.
