COLOMBO (News 1st); The Government is using a fraudulent price mechanism, says Samagi Jana Balawegaya MP Gayantha Karunatilleka.

Speaking further, MP Karunatilleka said that it is the people that have to face the repercussions of the mismanagement carried out by the Government.  

The MP, speaking after an event, alleged that the Government is using a fraudulent price mechanism as they increase prices when the prices in the world market increase and even when they decrease.

Pointing out that it has reached towards the end of 2021, the MP said that it is almost as if the country did not have a Government for the entire year.

“What we have is an invalid excuse for a government. The cost of essential goods are skyrocketing. The Government is not controlling the prices of essential goods. There are massive queues to buy goods. There is no one accountable for these. Ministers are going on foreign tours and holidays when the country is in a dire situation,” he said.
