Mullaithivu Murder: Family members of victim arrested

COLOMBO (News 1st); Police say that the father, mother, and sister of the 13-year-old girl who was murdered in Pudukudirippu have been arrested.

Moreover, her brother-in-law who was earlier arrested has been remanded until 4th January.

Investigations surrounding the death of 13-year-old, have previously revealed several details about the victim's death, such as the fact that she was 2 months pregnant when the mother attempted to perform a domestic abortion after learning that her daughter was pregnant.

Police suspect that she died when the suspects attempted to perform an abortion. The postmortem revealed that the deceased was missing several teeth as well.

The body of the girl who was reported missing since the 15th of December was discovered three days later, on the 18th of December.
