GMOA temporarily suspends strike

COLOMBO (News 1st); The Government Medical Officers' Association (GMOA) says that it has decided to temporarily suspend the island wide strike that lasted for 4 days.

The media spokesman of the association, Dr. Samantha Ananda stated that the decision was taken after the meeting of the Central Committee on Friday (24) afternoon.

The GMOA recently went on strike over an issue with regard to the transfer of medical officers.

Due to the strike, many patients who came to Government hospitals for treatment faced difficulties.
