Sarath vs. Sarath conflict continues at Parliament

COLOMBO (News 1st); Rear Admiral (Retd) Dr. Sarath Weerasekara, the Minister of Public Security responded to the allegations raised by MP Field Marshal Sarath Fonseka in Parliament on Friday (10).

The Minister of Public Security, Rear Admiral (Retd) Dr. Sarath Weerasekara speaking at the Parliament stated that MP Sarath Fonseka has criticized him in a very low manner and had fabricated lies against him at the Parliament on Thursday (09).

" Either he is afraid of me or he is jealous of me. Today that jealousy has converted itself into a grudge. We call this in English, the Inferiority complex, your honor, as this jealousy has been developed because I was been given the Ministry of Public Administration by President Gotabaya Rajapaksa when Sarath Fonseka was not given the Ministry when his party was in power," he alleged.

Speaking further, the Minister said that his goal is to create a community without fear, where even a woman should be able go anywhere at any time.

Responding to this, the Speaker of the Parliament Mahinda Yapa Abeywardane said that he has advised the Secretary of the Parliament to remove unwanted parts of Thursday's (09) and Friday's (10) debate.
