COLOMBO (News 1st); Minister of Power Gamini Lokuge says that he believes that the authorities will ensure the continuous supply of power without any interruptions soon.
The Minister said that an investigation is currently underway to determine whether it was the failure of transmission cables from Kotmale to the Biyagama Grid Sub-Station, which led to an island-wide power outage, and whether it was an act of sabotage.
Commenting on the recent power outages, Minister Gamini Lokuge said that uninterrupted supply of power is available across Sri Lanka now, adding that the Senior Managers of Electricity and the Engineers managed to restore the power supply after a few hours of the outages.
He further noted that a 300MW plant which is being renovated at the Coal Power Plant will also be in operation starting Wednesday (08).
