COLOMBO (News 1st); Sri Lanka's Opposition Leader Sajith Premadasa has alleged that Litro Gas stopped all the tests that were carried out to detect any leaks in the valve of the cylinder and supplied gas to the market, without subjecting the cylinders for tests.

"This is the root cause behind the gas leak explosions in the country. Litro Gas is responsible for this. Litro Gas is operated under Sri Lanka Insurance. Sri Lanka Insurance is under the Treasury and the Ministry of Finance. Therefore, the Government is responsible for this as well," he said.

He said an independent and unbiased investigation must be called for to determine who instructed Litro Gas to stop the tests.
