Our Govt. is not learning from world politics: Prof. Piyadasa

COLOMBO (News 1st); Out Government will nor learn from Sri Lankan politics neither world politics, says Sri Lanka Freedom Party (SLFP) member Prof. Rohana Lakshman Piyadasa.

Expressing his opinions on the current political climate of Sri Lanka, Prof. Piyadasa stated that an open discussion on the importation of fertilizer is currently underway, whilst the Government has failed to control the price and the stocks of the main meal of the people in the country. 

Pointing out that by now the prices of all essential food items have increased, Prof. Piyadasa stated that there are many questions that need to be answered, as people are rapidly taking to the streets.

Prof. Piyadasa also urged the Government to inquire whether it is possible to maintain popular power, and not two-thirds, in the face of the people who are protesting.

" We have seen Governments across Europe, one by one, collapsing in the face of popular power. These Government are balanced by well-educated politicians who manage the country correctly. Our politicians neither learn lessons from world politics nor do they learn lessons from Sri Lankan politics as well," he added.
