SJB MP claims Parliamentary privileges abused after wire tapping

COLOMBO (News 1st);  SJB Parliamentarian Mujibur Rahman alleges that his Parliamentary benefits were violated when his phone number was revealed to have been illegally tapped. Speaking at the Parliament today (26), the MP alleged that the Intelligence Services had summoned a close ally of his, and had interrogated him on the calls which were taken from the MP's number, including outgoing and incoming calls. Citing that a Magistrate order is necessary to engage in surveillance of call logs, the MP stated that the Intelligence Services has thus violated the criminal code and his Parliamentary Benefits, and requested for the relevant officials, along with the service providers to be summoned before the Parliamentary Benefits Committee.
