COLOMBO (News 1st); Samagi Jana Balawegaya MP J.C. Alawatuwala says that a huge shortage of essential commodities exist in addition to the fertilizer crisis.
Speaking to media today (21), MP Alawatuwala stated that at the market, anyone can see the prices of vegetables, which have increased more than usual.
” One kilogram of beans is prices at Rs. 600. Not only beans, but almost all vegetables are placed above Rs, 500,” the MP said.
Expounding further, he stated that against such a backdrop, there is also a 25% drop in the supply of vegetables at the Dambulla Economic Centre, which has proven to be a large problem for the public in the midst of the fertilizer crisis as well.
