COLOMBO (News 1st); State Minister of Agriculture Shasheendra Rajapaksa says that the fertilizer ban will be lifted for all crops except paddy.

Speaking to News 1st, the State Minister of Organic Fertilizer Production and Agriculture emphasized that permission was granted to cultivate paddy using organic fertilizers while it was permitted to import fertilizers of the third category and fourth category for other crops such as vegetables, fruits and export crops.

Speaking further, the State Minister said that he hopes to implement a relief program for farmers who face difficulties when attempting to conduct agricultural activities with organic fertilizer.
