COLOMBO (News 1st); The ceremony to unveil the Anuradhapura Sandahiru Seya is being held today (18), under the auspices of President Gotabaya Rajapaksa.

The construction of the Sandahiru Seya was initiated in the year 2010 as a tribute to the war heroes who lost their lives during the nearly three decades long war in Sri Lanka.

The height of Sadahiru Seya with the Crest Gem ‘Chudamanikya’ is 282 feet 6 inches.

It is 255 feet in height with a circumference of 801 feet.

The Armed Forces and the Civil Defense Force provided full manpower for the construction of the Stupa with the assistance of the Department of Archeology and the Sri Lanka Corporation of Engineers.
