COLOMBO (News 1st); Sri Lanka’s Director-General of Health Services Dr. Asela Gunawardena said the necessary health guidelines to recommence classes from Grades 6 to 9 across all schools were delivered to the Education Ministry.

Grades 6 to 9 across all schools in Sri Lanka will recommence on Monday (22), as per the decision made by the Education Ministry.

However, the Director-General of Health Services warned parents to refrain from sending their children to school if they show signs of fever, cold or cough.

Commenting on the vaccination drive, he said that more than a million children between the ages of 16 & 19 have been vaccinated, while the booster dose for the over 60 population is already underway in several areas, and it will be promoted across the country in the next few weeks.
