EXTREME WEATHER : DMC releases the latest situation report

COLOMBO (News 1st): The Disaster Management Center in its latest situation report on Extreme Weather released on Sunday (14), said a total of 26 people had died from floods, landslides and related incidents.

Most of these deaths (7) were reported from Puttlam, and others were reported from Badulla, Matale, Galle, Kegalle, Kurunegala and Mullaithivu.

49 houses were destroyed and 1,574 houses were damaged, said the DMC.

According to the statistics of the Disaster Management Center, a total of 230,640 people were affected cross 17 districts.
