COLOMBO (News 1st); The Colombo – Kandy Road will remain closed from Lower Kadugannawa, until further notice, said the Road Development Authority.

The road was closed from 10 PM on Wednesday (10) due to the threat of landslides.

The Road Development Authority said field inspections will take place daily at 10 AM with the National Building Research Organization and others agencies.

RDA said it is being advised by the NBRO over the safety of using the road.

Sri Lanka Police introduced the following alternative routes for motorists.

1. Ambepussa – Kurunegala – Katugastota – Kandy

2. Kegalle – Polgahawela – Kurunegala – Katugastota – Kandy

3. Mawanella – Rambukkana – Hatharaliyadda – Galagedara – Kandy

4. Mawanella – Hemmathagama – Gampola – Peradeniya – Kandy
