Budget 2022: Every single Parliamentarian to receive Rs. 5Mn

COLOMBO (News 1st); Every single Parliamentarian, irrespective of their party, will receive Rs. 05 million to develop their relevant area, under the De-Centralized Fund for MPs, says Minister of Finance Basil Rajapaksa. Speaking during the Budget speech at the Parliament today (12), Rajapaksa stated that this is the most important proposal made by the 2022 Budget as of yet. Meanwhile, Rs. 85,000 million will be allocated for rural community development under the GAMA SAMAGA PILISANDARAK program. Speaking further, the Minister of Finance said that Rs. 4 billion will be allocated at the divisional level, in order for the development of that relevant area. Moreover, Rs. 3 million will be allocated for every Grama Seva Divisions to develop the area, for all the 14,021 GN divisions in the country. a total of Rs. 42,053 million will be allocated for this purpose. Additionally, the Minister of Finance stated that since the very first Budget of Sri Lanka has presented, this is the largest sum of money allocated from a budget for rural development.
