COLOMBO (News 1st); Leader of the Janatha Vimukthi Peramuna Anura Kumara Dissanayake today (11) requested that a Parliamentary Select Committee be appointed to decide on the future course of action with regard to the MV X-Press Pearl disaster.
Whilst drawing the attention of the Parliamentarians to the delay in providing solutions for the people and the environment adversely affected due to the X-Press Pearl vessel, Dissanayake noted that the vessel is still submerged in the Sri Lankan waters, 9.5 nautical miles away from Sri Lanka.
He further pointed out that a Parliamentary Select Committee would allow all members to present their suggestions to address the issue.
