COLOMBO (News 1st); Sri Lanka Railways has decided to restrict operations as Extreme Weather conditions caused damage to the tracks in multiple locations.
State Minister of Transport Dilum Amunugama told News 1st that tracks between Rambukkana and Kadugannawa were damaged due to a landslide.
In addition, trains will not operate from Bangadeniya to Puttlam along the Chilaw router, he added, noting that the tracks were damaged by floods.
Further, operations between Kandy and Wattegama were also disrupted due to landslides, said the State Minister,
Accordingly, operations along the main route will be restricted to Colombo to Polgahawela.
