Maldives President in Sri Lanka for Mahinda Rajapaksa Trophy 2021

COLOMBO (News 1st); Maldives President Ibrahim Mohamed Solih traveled to Sri Lanka on Monday (8) to attend the opening ceremony of the “Prime Minister Mahinda Rajapaksa Trophy 2021” or the Four Nations International Tournament.

Spokesperson of the Maldives President's Office, Mohamed Mabrook Azeez, said President Solih would be traveling to Sri Lanka and is scheduled to hold official talks with the Sri Lankan Prime Minister Mahinda Rajapaksa and President Gotabaya Rajapaksa during his visit.

Four teams will be competing in the “Prime Minister Mahinda Rajapaksa Trophy 2021”: Sri Lanka, Maldives, Bangladesh, and Seychelles. The first match will be between the Maldives and Sri Lanka.

The Duty Manager at the Katunayake Airport said 10 people accompanied the visiting Head of State who will return to the Maldives on Tuesday (9).
