Special operation to monitor if health guidelines are followed

COLOMBO (News 1st); The Police had thoroughly warned the operators of 334 non- A/C buses, 69 A/C buses and 507 shops to be mindful of the health guidelines imposed by the Director General of Health Services.

This was during a special operation launched yesterday (6) to inquire whether the public is following the health guidelines imposed in the Western Province.

Accordingly, the Police had launched the operation from 12:00 p.m. - 02:00 p.m. yesterday (6), in order to observe whether the public is wearing face masks, whether windows on A/C buses are kept open to allow for circulation of air, the number of customers inside shops and whether a poster is displayed out front about the number of customers that can be allowed within the shop at a time, and to monitor whether the public is maintaining proper social distancing.

The operation was conducted with the participation of 469 Police personnel, who inspected 1,005 non - A/C buses, 216 A/C buses, and 1,312 shops.
