EXTREME WEATHER: Pre-flood warning issued for multiple catchment areas

COLOMBO (News 1st); Sri Lanka's Irrigation Department issued a Pre-Floor Warning for the resident living close to several river basins in the country, considering the heavy rains experienced in catchment areas.

The warning was issued as there is a possibility of floods being experienced in those areas.

People living close to the following River Basins were requested to remain vigilant over rising water levels.

1. Deduru Oya Basin

2. Maha Oya Basin

3. Attanagalu Oya Basin

4. Kelani River Basin

5. Kalu River Basin

6. Benthara River Basin

7. Gin River Basin

8. Nilwala River Basin

9. Kala Oya Basin
