Over 60% of children over 16 vaccinated: Health Minister

COLOMBO (News 1st); Health Minister Keheliya Rambukwella says that 22,900 children with comorbidities within the ages of 12 -15 have been vaccinated so far. He further stated that 62% of children from 16 - 19 have been vaccinated as well, which is 882,000 persons. Meanwhile, 14.5 million doses of the Pfizer vaccine have been ordered, and the vaccination program will continue as usual, he added. Moreover, the State Minister of COVID-19 Prevention Sudarshini Fernandopulle says that 90% of the population over 20 years of age have been fully vaccinated, while 60% of the entire population has obtained both doses of the vaccine.
