Chinese Ambassador, Education Minister discuss students returning to China

COLOMBO (News 1st); The Minister of Education Dinesh Gunawardena today (05) requested the Chinese Ambassador to Sri Lanka Qi Zhenhong to facilitate the return of Sri lankan overseas students to China for educational purposes. The two dignitaries met today (05), and held discussions on a wide range of topics, including IT, remote education and collaboration between universities as well. The Education Minister thanked the Ambassador for the construction of an agricultural sciences University at the request of the President, which is due to be established in Hambantota. The Chinese Ambassador commented that Sri Lanka has the potential to escalate into a logistic international hub with the development of the Hambantota Port and the Industrial park.
