COLOMBO (News 1st); Two Deputy Inspector General’s Police (DIG) and seven Officers-in-Charge were transferred on Thursday (28), said Sri Lanka Police.
Police Spokesperson SSP Nihal Thalduwa speaking to News 1st said that DIG Prasad Ranasinghe who was in charge of the Criminal Investigations Department was transferred to Police Headquarters.
DIG W. Thilakaratne, who was in charge of the Matara and Hambantota Ranges, was appointed as the New DIG in charge of the CID.
The DIG in charge of the Galle Range Nuwan Wedasinghe will also serve as the Acting DIG in charge of the Matara and Hambantota ranges, said the Police Spokesperson.
OICs of the Weeragula, Bulathsinhala, Gothatuwa, Pottapitiya, Pallewela, Poddala, and Mulleriyawa Police Stations were also transferred.
