Three suspects arrested with firearms in Rathgama & Eheliyagoda

COLOMBO (News 1st); Three suspects with two firearms have been arrested in raids conducted in Rathgama and Eheliyageda areas recently. Accordingly, one firearm was found in the possession of two suspects arrested in connection with a shooting incident which took place in the Rathgama on 21 July. Police said that a sword was also in the possession of the suspects, identified as 24 and 27 year old's, residents of Rathgama and Boossa. Meanwhile, a 36-year old suspect was arrested in the Mitipola area in Eheliyagoda with a foreign made 12-bore firearm during a raid carried out by a group of STF officers. The suspects are also due to be produced before the Galle and Avissawella Magistrate's Courts today (27).
