COLOMBO (News 1st); Over 200 families will drink clean water in the rural village of Ralapanawa, in the Puttlam district from today, as Gammadda handed over a Reverse Osmosis Plant to the village.
For decades, the people in Ralapanawa walked for miles to obtain clean drinking water, despite having water sources in the area.
However, the water from those sources was not suitable for consumption.
The new Reverse Osmosis Plant on Monday (25), which is Capable of purifying 10,000 L per day was supported by a kind donor, and the purification plant was handed over to the people also in memory of the Late Chairman and Founder of Gammadda, Mr. R Rajamahendran.
