COLOMBO (News 1st); The Petroleum Electricity Alliance against the sale of national resources met the Archbishop of Colombo, His Eminence Malcolm Cardinal Ranjith yesterday (22).
The alliance has taken steps to create awareness about the sale of National resources by the Government at the meeting held at the Archbishop’s official residence in Borella yesterday (22).
Ranjan Jayalal, the Convener of the Ceylon Electricity Board Joint Trade Union Alliance stated that His Eminence Malcolm Cardinal Ranjith informed the alliance about the current national crisis taking place in the country and spoke about the need to bring all religions and factions to together to save the country, beyond simply the national resources of the country.
Accordingly, His Eminence Malcolm Cardinal Ranjith has also informed that he will give his full assistance towards the action being conducted by the alliance to protect national resources.
Jayalal also warned that the Ceylon Electricity Board, the Ports workers and workers at the CPC will be launching protests next week, and the Government should be responsible for any electricity breakdowns and fuel supply shortages.
