Destruction has struck agricultural sector: MP Rohana Bandara

COLOMBO (News 1st); Samagi Jana Balawegaya MP Rohana Bandara commenting on the shortage of fertilizer said even before commencing the use of nano nitrogen fertilizer, destruction has struck the agriculture sector. "When Nano Nitrogen is applied, the results are like a bomb explosion. We can clearly see the results now. The harvest will not increase when a bomb strike, it will only lead to destruction." he commented. Meanwhile State Minister Jayantha Samaraweera commended the President's actions to expand organic cultivation. Speaking to media, the State Minister stated that use of organic fertilizer is a commendable step, however crisis has befallen farmers due to the use of fertilizer not being properly implemented. He added that steps should be taken with regard to food security and the hardships borne by farmers in the process of implementing this.
