COLOMBO (News 1st); Sri Lanka’s Energy Minister Udaya Gammanpila said that there is no plan to hike the prices of fuel supplied by the Ceylon Petroleum Corporation.
Speaking to News 1st, the Minister also assured that there is no shortage of fuel in the country.
However, with the LIOC raising the fuel prices, people queued at the CPC-run petrol stations, which motorists claim was caused by the anticipated government’s decision to raise oil prices.
Lanka IOC (LIOC), the subsidiary of the Indian Oil Corporation in Sri Lanka, hiked the retail prices of both petrol and diesel by Rs 5 per liter in the wake of the rising global oil prices.
