Education Minister expresses gratitude to parents for sending kids to school

COLOMBO (News 1st); The Minister of Education Dinesh Gunawardena has issued a statement expressing his gratitude to the parents who sent their children to school and the principals and teachers who came to the schools on behalf of those children. While speaking at a media briefing held at the Ministry following an inspection tour of the academic activities and participation of several schools, the Minister noted that the schools across the country opened with the participation of a large number of teachers and students. Speaking further, the Minister said that the Ministry is working to gradually start all schools and that it is gratifying that the work of educating hundreds of thousands of school children in this country has begun successfully. " The Ministry of Education would like to express its gratitude to the thousands of students who came to school with their parents from all parts of the country from the North to the South and from the West to the East to attend classes," He stated. The Minister also thanked the principals and teachers for their invaluable contribution to the future generations of the country in achieving the aspirations of the free education of their students. Moreover, he also expressed gratitude to the Ministry of Health, Provincial Governors, Zonal Directors of Education, Members of Parliament, Government Departments and parents for their dedicated work. The Minister assured that the Ministry of Education is committed to further strengthening and improving the future of the children so that they can pursue education in accordance with health regulations. However, the Teacher's Unions today claimed that the strike was successful, as they stated that many children did not go to schools today (21). The Minister, commenting on this said that some groups are attempting to spread false propaganda among teachers and children.
