Police warns to avoid public gatherings

COLOMBO (News 1st); Police have warned the public to avoid public gatherings during the long weekend. Police Media Spokesman SSP Nihal Thalduwa stated that strict investigations into violations of inter-provincial traffic restrictions will continue. Meanwhile, 52 people who violated existing quarantine measures have been arrested within the past 24 hours. The police spokesperson said 158 roadblocks had been set up to check traffic violators throughout the island.
