Several spells of shower expected: Met Department

COLOMBO (News 1st); The Meteorology Department says that several spells of showers will occur in Western, Sabaragamuwa, Central and North-Western Provinces and in Galle and Matara Districts today (16). Moreover, a few showers may occur in the Northern Province during the morning as well. Mainly fair weather will prevail elsewhere. Wind speed can be increased up to 40kmph at times in the Western slope of central hills, Northern, North-Central, North-Western and Southern Provinces and in the Trincomalee District. The general public has been requested to take adequate precautions to minimize damages caused by temporary localized strong winds and lightning during thundershowers.
