Govt needs to tell the people truth: Dr. Amarasuriya

COLOMBO (News 1st); National People's Power MP Dr. Harini Amarasuriya says that the truth about the present state of country must be revealed to the people and a national plan must be formulated in order to overcome the existing challenges. Speaking to media, Dr. Amarasuriya emphasized that what the Government must initially do is tell the public the truth about the current situation of the country. Pointing out that the Government is trying to portray this as a crisis that emerged with the COVID-19 pandemic, she alleged that the prevailing crisis in the country did not occur entirely because of COVID-19. Furthermore, Dr. Amarasuriya said that there must be a national plan to overcome the economic crisis, and the Government must implement national plans for education, agriculture, and the economy. The Government must unite the people first, in order to implement that plan, she added.
