Brawl at a funeral in Ratnapura, ends in murder

COLOMBO (News 1st); Sri Lanka Police arrested 04 men for the murder of a 34-year-old man in Ratnapura.

According to reports, a group of men was placing banners opposite a house where a person had recently passed away.

At around 9:30 PM on Wednesday (6) nights, an argument had broken out with a group of intoxicated people who were passing the funeral home.

Moments later, the group returned with machetes and three people were attacked.

One person died upon admission to the hospital and the other two are being treated for their injuries.

The family of the deceased is demanding justice over the murder.

Incidentally, a group had attempted to destroy the house of the main suspect by setting the house on fire.
