Prisons Department resume inmate visits

COLOMBO (News 1st); The Department of Prisons has decided to resume inmate visits from Monday (04), with the lifting of the curfew from yesterday (02). The Department of Prisons previously decided to temporarily halt all inmate visits due to the COVID-19 situation in the country from 07.08.2021. Accordingly, persons will be able to visit inmates in accordance with the guidelines imposed by health authorities and the  Prison Health Services. The Department of Prisons has urged visitors to follow the health guidelines issued by the Government as the pandemic is not completely eradicated yet and to conduct e-visits as much as possible.
