COLOMBO (News 1st); State Minister of Promoting the Production & Regulating the Supply of Organic Fertilizer, Agriculture Shasheendra Rajapaksa says 81,000 farmers have already been paid for the production of organic fertilizer.
He said an installment of Rs. 7,500 out of the Rs. 12,500 allowance provided to farmers for fertilizer production, has been provided already.
The amount provided to farmers in the Eastern Province alone exceeds, Rs. 1,000 million.
The State Minister shared these remarks during the progress review meeting of the Presidential Task Force on Creating a Green Sri Lanka with Sustainable Solutions to Climate Change, yesterday (30).
He said measures have been taken to provide farmers with organic fertilizer required for the upcoming Maha season without any shortage.
