School boy dies after being beaten by father with a broom

COLOMBO (News 1st); A 49-year-old man was arrested for beating his 15-year-old son with a broomstick, which eventually led his death in Galle.

Sri Lanka Police said the father of the victim had beaten the boy with a broomstick on Wednesday (29), for not attending online classes.

The boy who had suffered head injuries after the beating had been admitted to the Intensive Care Unit of the Karapitiya Hospital, however, later succumbed to his injuries.
