Minister instructs Criminal Investigations Dept to be investigated

COLOMBO (News 1st); Rear Admiral (Retd) Dr. Sarath Weerasekara, the Minister of Public Security has instructed the IGP to investigate the Criminal Investigation Dept as to why they carried out inquiries on journalists, related to the Garlic Scam case, despite being instructed not to do so.

In the same Media Release, the Minister has handed over the Garlin Scam investigation from the Peliyagoda Special Crimes Investigations Division to the CID.
