COLOMBO (News 1st); The government has decided to release essential food items and other commodities stockpiled at the Colombo Port.

The decision was reached at the Cabinet meeting last night.

The Ministry of Finance has allocated USD $50 million to release these items.

Prime Minister Mahinda Rajapaksa recently issued instructions to release the essential food items and other commodities at the port.
