COLOMBO (News 1st): The Ministry of Health has issued a circular emphasizing the specific underlying conditions under which children between ages 12 – 19 should be vaccinated.

Accordingly, the Ministry has given 14 categories of co-morbidities that children could possess, which may enable them to obtain the vaccine.

Meanwhile, a consent form that should be signed by a guardian of the child has been made mandatory by the Ministry, in addition to a list of 27 specific vaccination centers where children will be vaccinated.

According to the recommendations of the WHO by June 2021, the Pfizer vaccine can be utilized to vaccinate those above 12 years of age.
