COLOMBO (News 1st); Authorities had taken measures to defuse two hand grenades that were discovered at the Negombo Superintendent of Police office premises, after submitting facts to the court.

Police Spokesperson SSP Nihal Thalduwa told News 1st said the Police Special Task Force defused the explosive devices.

The two hand grenades were discovered by a group of sanitation workers who visited the Negombo SP office premises to take away the garbage.

They alerted the police officers and an investigation was launched.

Police Spokesperson SP Nihal Thalduwa said an investigation is underway to determine to who placed the explosives devices at the premises and why.
