WB to grant supplementary loan of U.S. $ 100Mn

COLOMBO (News 1st): The World Bank has agreed to grant a supplementary loan of U.S. $ 100 million for emergency response to COVID-19. Accordingly, the Cabinet of Ministers have approved the resolution proposed by the Minister of Health to obtain the relevant supplementary financing facility. Moreover, it has been decided to procure 14 million doses of the Pfizer vaccine as well as financing other costs pertaining to the vaccination program. The National Task Force for vaccination has also decided to widen its fundamental target of vaccination of the Sri Lankan population to 60% as well.
