Over 100k from over 60 population unvaccinated due to misconceptions

COLOMBO (News 1st): The Ministry of Home Affairs says that it has been revealed that more than 100,000 people over the age of 60 have not been vaccinated against COVID-19. The Ministry stated that this was revealed during an investigation carried out by field officials into the progress of the COVID-19 vaccination program. The Ministry points out that many people have rejected the jab based on widespread misconceptions about the COVID-19 vaccine. The majority of non-vaccinated people over the age of 60, over 21,000 persons are reported from the Jaffna District. Meanwhile, 3,900 people over 60 years of age in the Colombo District and over 7,000 people in the Kandy District have not been vaccinated against the disease. The Ministry of Home Affairs stated that all people over the age of 60 in the Ampara and Puttalam Districts have been vaccinated against the COVID-19 virus.
