COLOMBO (News 1st): The Public Health Inspector's Union of Sri Lanka says that travel restrictions between districts and provinces should be enforced further.
Upul Rohana, President of the Public Health Inspector's Union of Sri Lanka, says that the number of COVID-19 cases in the country could be subject to a rise if the travel restrictions are not imposed further.
He further stated that although a reduction in patients at the grassroots level has been observed, the curfew was not strictly enforced during the past several weeks.
The President of the PHI union also pointed out that licenses have been issued to the extent that it is not possible to identify what essential services are anymore.
Therefore he emphasizes that if the the country is to be opened in the future, it will have to operate with strict travel restrictions.
